Our North Carolina Christmas

Garrett with is matchbox cars
I made this for Nathan. It is some pictures of him and Garrett I took at the beach.
Nathan got me this flag and under it is says "Home of the free, because of the brave". I LOVE IT.
Garrett could not get enough of this truck.
He was bringing everyone our gifts.
Our own little Elf!
Garrett visited Santa at Nathan's Christmas party.

A family picture at the beach.
Taking a stroll.

Since we are heading down to Texas tomorrow Nathan, Garrett and I celebrated our Christmas here so we didn't have to take our gifts to Texas. We had a really fun evening. Garrett was so excited to have some new toys. Can't wait to do it a couple more times!
Nathan took the cake this year for Christmas presents. He has been listening more than I thought when I mentioned I wanted something. He got me some Mary Jane Crocks (rubber shoes) among other things. I am just so thankful that he is home for Christmas. I will post pictures of our trip to Texas as I download them.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

A DATE WITH CHOCOLATE PUDDING

The story behind this plaque: Nathan was the 1st Platoon Commander while he was in Iraq. Recently he has been moved to Weapons Company as the XO (executive officer). As a farewell his platoon took him out last night and awarded him with this plaque. He is very proud of his platoon and it is obvious that his platoon really looked up to him. To the right is the Marine Officer Challenge Coin and to the left is the Iraq Campaign medel.

This is the symbol of 1/9 which has a lot of history behind it.

Our Project

Garrett finally started walking. He really likes to walk like a bear a lot these days. I will try and capture that on film. It is really funny.
He is very interested in all of Daddy's stuff.
We decided to take on a project while Nathan is on leave. We put in ceramic tile flooring. It was a long and messy project. I am glad it is almost over. We are waiting to seal it and put the trim up. There is a five day waiting period. At least I have a kitchen again. I was miserable not having my oven or dishwasher.
Nathan is getting his sword ready for a wedding he is in. It will be Garrett's first night away from us. I hope he doesn't party to much while we are away.
He loves to climb the hearth and he giggles because he knows he is not supposed to do that. He has also learned that when he has something he is not supposed to have and I catch him he chunks it and runs. It is really hard not to laugh.
The robe is a bit snug.
He looks like his Nan from behind. Same legs.
Look at all my pearly whites. I now have 10 teeth and I bite hard.
Yes this is a donut in my mouth. I shoved the whole thing in and gobbled it up. Garrett loves anything sweet! Just like Momma.
This was when we were finishing up. Nathan and I both had a thick covering of white powder on us.
Evenly spaced floor.
Almost done.
We really didn't know what we were getting ourselves into.
The key to laying tile is to get the measurments just right. It took us a good while to figure out where the center of the room was.
Goodbye old flooring.
Nathan and his new shopvac. It is really nice.
I am not trying to show off Nathan's bum, but it was cute that Garrett and Nathan were both looking up. He is using his new vac to clean out our air vents.
This was our old flooring.
