February

Hello friends and family. We have had a few milestones in January and February. The big thing is that Garrett started rolling over. At first is was just one roll here and there. Now he automatically rolls when he is layed down. Garrett also started eating cereal and some snacks. He loves playing with his cup, even though he has not figured out how to drink from it. He is also trying to sit up on his own. He will sit up for about a minute and then fall forward a little. He is such a happy baby. He smiles at everyone and laughs and Mommy and Daddy a lot. He got sick in Minnesota and was miserable while getting over that. He is feeling much better now.

In February we went to Minnesota to visit my sister. It was cold, but not too bad until the day we left (perfect timing). My sister, brother-in-law, niece, and nephew loved seeing Garrett and I am glad they got to see him before he is all grown up.

We got the news this month that Nathan will be leaving for Iraq in mid April. He has been getting physically and mentally prepared for that. He has also started getting some quality gear to take over there. He will be able to call me and e-mail from where he will be so we can hear from him. Also, he is taking our DVD player and I will send him some DVD's of Garrett as he grows the next year. I know Nathan is sad that he will miss so many great things that are going to happen for Garrett this year (crawling, walking, getting teeth) so hopefully that will make him feel like he is part of it.

While Nathan is gone we are going to stay here in North Carolina most of the time, but we will take a trip to Connecticut probably in May. We are also planning on going home to Texas for about a month or so in July.

We didn't do much for Valentines Day this year because Nathan is getting a later work schedule due to deployment. As a friend put it "It was the best Valentines because he was here". I am thankful for that.

Thanks for keeping us informed. We look forward to seeing Garrett soon. I have put Nathan's name on the prayer list for service men and women at church. Nathan went to this church as a child and was baptised here. I have trouble sending you your email. Is the yahoo address no longer working? I'm not too good with computers. Tell me what to do so I can send pictures of Lucy. She sits up pretty well and rolls all over the house. Shew cut 2 teeth before she was 5 months old and is working on another one. She weighed 14.9 lbs. and was 25 1/4 in. at her 4 month checkup in Jan. It looks like we have a big girl on our hands. We really are enjoying her.
