Hello Everyone,
Well Garrett and I did make it safely home to North Carolina. We had a good trip to Texas but honestly I won't be making that trip again for a long time. The drive was a long 26 hours not including stops. My brother Thomas took time out of his busy schedule to drive up with me since I was pulling Nathans jeep.
Now that we are home Garrett and I have kept very busy. Our friend Gail had her baby boy so we have visited her some. I have also been going to the beach and pool a lot with my pal Michelle and her daughter Allie. Garrett always gets so excited when Allie comes over to play or we go over there. It gives Mommy a break from entertaining the munchkin.
Garrett's first birthday is coming up next month. I can't believe it has already been a year since he was born. Time really does fly once you have children. These days Garrett is crawling all over the place. He is really interested in anything that is not a toy. He does this growl that is so funny. I think he likes that he always gets a reaction from me when he does it. We have all this plastic food around here and Garrett loves it. I occasionally turn around and he has a plastic egg in his mouth or a hot dog. It is really cute.
Our next trip is coming up in about a month and a half. We are heading up to Connecticut to visit my sister Rebecca. We are going to hit the apple orchards and the pumpkin patches. Connecticut is so beautiful in the fall and I am really looking forward to visiting my sister.
The latest news from Nathan is that he is ready to come home but bearing Iraq until that time comes. His schedule is very far from a routine and lately he has been working a lot of night shifts. So when I talk to him he is pretty tired and usually he heads to bed shortly after our conversation. His big news this month is his promotion. He should be picking up 1st Lieutenant on August 21 if all goes as scheduled. I am very proud of him and I wish I could be the one pinning his bar on him. He is still scheduled to come home at the end of October maybe early November. I am so happy that he will be home for the holidays.
